Dr. Tan’s Balance Method Acupuncture — Basic 1, 2, 3 & Global Balance

Dr. Tan’s Balance Method is a structured, results-oriented approach to acupuncture. Distal points are chosen through the meridian network so that treatment can be clear, economical and easy to check in the session. The basic seminar (1/2/3) gives newer practitioners a usable system at the start of practice and gives experienced clinicians another way to read and treat. Global Balance then takes the same logic from pain and orthopaedics into internal disease and emotional disorders.
In June 2027 SZKMA and HDA will host both seminars back to back in Zagreb, Croatia.
Basic Balance 1, 2, 3 — 25–26 June 2027 (Friday–Saturday)
Global Balance — 27–28 June 2027 (Sunday–Monday)
Venue: Hotel Central Zagreb, Ul. kneza Branimira 3, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia Time: 09:00–18:00 Language: English Instructor: Adi Fromm CME credits: TBA (application in process)
Participants who complete Basic 1, 2, 3 immediately before Global Balance fulfil the usual prerequisite for the second workshop. Taking the full four-day sequence is the most coherent way to learn the method.
1, 2, 3 — Easy to Learn, Easy to Treat
25–26 June 2027
The introductory seminar teaches the meridian network as a working language: Systems 1, 2 and 3 of balance, meridian palpation, effective needling and Ashi strategy. The aim is differential diagnosis and fast distal treatment of common pain disorders, with results that can often be seen in the first session.
Clinical ground typically includes:
Orthopaedic disorders — pain of the upper and lower limbs, tennis/golf elbow, knee pain, spinal syndromes, acute and chronic low-back pain, cervical spine disorders
Neurologic disorders — migraine, neuropathy of the upper and lower limbs, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, undiagnosed pain
Other presentations — selected urological complaints, hyperemesis, stomachache, PMS, and more
A short historical review of Dr. Tan’s core teachings is combined with practical examples from the instructor’s clinic. Active participation in all sessions is expected.
Global Balance
27–28 June 2027
The Global Balance Method, developed by Dr. Richard Teh-Fu Tan, treats internal diseases and emotional disorders by harmonising the whole body. It gives practitioners a framework for designing individualised treatments based on meridian relationships and is useful for multi-symptom conditions such as fatigue, insomnia, depression, digestive disorders and asthma.
Key ideas:
Meridian relationships and whole-body balance rather than only local symptoms
Mirroring, imaging and opposite techniques
The five systems of balance (Systems 1–3 from I Ching theory; Systems 4–5 from the Chinese clock)
Immediate clinical feedback during treatment
Prerequisite: completion of Basic 1, 2, 3. The June 2027 sequence is arranged so that this requirement is met on the first two days.
A detailed day-by-day timetable will be published closer to the event.
